Snow Mold Field Days

2016 Snow Mold Field Day

The snow hasn’t completely melted from our research site near Marquette, MI, but the melt is on and we’re going to take a bit of a leap of faith and predict it will all be gone by April 13th!  It was a wild winter in the Midwest so come and see the latest and greatest in snow mold control to give you a leg up in planning for next year.  Directions to the Marquette CC site and the schedule can be found below.  Please note that Marquette, MI is in the Eastern Time Zone.

When:  April 13th at approximately 10:00 AM EST (9:00 AM CST).

Where: Marquette Country Club in Marquette, MI

The field day will begin with a brief presentation (20 minutes) by Paul Koch regarding the trial results.  The remainder will be open to peruse the plots on your own, and Paul Koch, Bruce Schweiger, and Kurt Hockemeyer will be available to answer any questions.  We will remain as long as people have questions.

No registration is required and light refreshments will be provided.

How do I get to the trial?

The trial is located on the 11th fairway of the Heritage course along Grove St.  The 11th hole is located across Grove Street from the clubhouse (1075 Grove Street, Marquette, MI 49855).  Parking is not allowed on Grove Street, so please park in the parking lot near the clubhouse and walk approximately 400 yards across Grove Street to the research plot.  Look for our red truck parked next to the plot.  Directions to the Marquette CC clubhouse can be found on the Marquette CC website (

What about the other snow mold sites?

No field day will be held at Cherokee Country Club in Madison, WI or Wausau Country Club in Wausau, WI due to low disease pressure. Final research reports, along with pictures of each treatment, will be available for all sites online at
